2016 Breaks the Record

Paella Fest Raises $17,000
for Food For Lane County

On the sunny banks of the McKenzie River, over 30 paellas bubbled and filled the air with aromas that piqued the senses. Combined with a variety of talented musicians, Northwest beer and wine, and an amazing crowd of paella lovers, the 2016 Paella Fest blew away last year's fund raising record by taking in over $17,000 for Food For Lane County. That converts to 52,000 meals for people in need here in Lane County.

Many people are responsible for making the event possible. The makers are the stars who donate their time, food and passion, the talented musicians entertain and dazzle, and the many people who generously donated their art, vacation rentals, goods and services to the Silent Auction (special thanks to Sue Dickman and Cindy Ray for running this).

A special shout out to Dwight Collins for his offer of Newman's seafood to makers and for keeping the beer cold; to Dave and Beck for sharing their amazing river; to the dozens of people who stayed overnight and helped clean and schlepp stuff up the hill the next morning. And a final thanks and acknowledgment to the countless number of people who worked hard in a variety of ways to make this event such a great success.

See you next year!
